We have an independent house at Zamin Pallavaram and we are planning to sell it. We finalised on a buyer and as we were to ink the deal, we found out that the sale deed (it was purchased in 1974) measurement and the patta measurements are wrong (it is showing 200 sq.ft. less).

Please advise whom should we contact. We are not in a position to spend large amounts on this correction. Kindly advise whom should we approach to get the patta correction done.

You can make an application to the jurisdictional Tahsildar’s Office for issuance of a corrected patta, provided the measurements on site are in alignment with the revenue records. Occasionally, there may be minor variations between the extent mentioned in the sale deed and that in the patta. Normally, parties ascertain and proceed based on actual site measurements.
