My late father has a property in Chennai. He got the building plan approved in his name but he expired before the structure was completed.

He had got a settlement deed of his property made in the names of both my minor children. Can we pay the property tax in his name? Is there any provision to pay the tax in the name of the minors?

There is no legal bar for minors to own immovable properties.

Based on the Deed of Settlement, the property tax, water tax and electricity assessments can be transferred in their names, represented by you as guardian and thereafter you can make payment of the same on their behalves.
