I have handed over Rs. 15,00,000 via four crossed cheques to a builder in Mysore and received receipts for the same.
The builder’s son (director of the company) drafted an agreement (instead of his father who is the Chairman and MD) and refused to register it.
The housing unit was not delivered and registered in my name even after 18 months (the period of completion).
I approached the local consumer forum but they could not help as I had filed the complaint against the person who signed the agreement and not the company.
What are the remedies available for me to recover the full amount, including the loss of rental income that I could have earned had the flat been delivered as per schedule?

The documents executed between you and the builder or his son, your complaint and their response, the order passed by the consumer forum and other incidental documents have to be studied in detail to answer your query. Please consult your lawyer.
