I have obtained a land and building approval (own use) for a G+1 property. This was approved by the Pammal municipality after I paid all taxes and charges.

I received an approval that was valid for three years and it expired on September 27, 2018. I now wish to start the construction, so how do I go about getting a year’s extension? Or am I required to reapply? If yes, what happens to my payments towards various charges paid earlier.

Question not in our scope. Should check with his engineer or architect.

I stay in an apartment at Manapakkam and we are planning to register our Association. Do we need to register it as a society or an association? What is the difference between the two and their respective advantages?

Under the Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act, any society that has as its objects, promotion of common interest in various permitted fields of activities, can be registered under the Act. The Act does not define ‘Association’. However, an association can be registered as a Society under the said Act.
