We are living in a multi-storey apartment complex which was constructed in the year 2002. As per the approved plan, permission has not been granted to construct flats on the ground floor but the builder has converted the common area into two units.
He has registered UDS in the name of two persons and and allotted those two unapproved flats.
The Corporation has assessed property tax for the two said housing units. Is it in order for the Corporation to assess tax for the unapproved flats as per the Municipalities Act?
Can the assessment of tax be cancelled by the Association?

If any unauthorised construction is put up in the building, a complaint can be lodged with the approving authority. You can write to them with the copy of the sanctioned plan for necessary action, but the delay in raising your objections may have a bearing on the issue.
